Proposed Changes in SSC CGL 2025 : An important information has come out for the youth preparing for the SSC CGL exam. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is planning to bring a big change in the rules of recruitment this time. In this regard, the commission has sent a new proposal to the central government, which talks about adopting a new system. If the government approves this, then the recruitment process will be quite different from before.
What changes are going to happen in the recruitment system?
Till now there was no waiting list system in the SSC CGL exam. That is, once the result was out, if any post was left vacant, then there was no process to fill it again. But in the last few years it has been seen that many posts remain vacant during the verification of documents because some candidates are not selected in the final stage.
To overcome this problem, the commission is now preparing to bring a “sliding scheme”. Under this scheme, if a candidate is unable to come in the main list but his marks are close to the cutoff, then he can get a chance on the vacant posts. This will ensure that all the posts announced are filled completely and no seat remains vacant.
Proposal sent, approval awaited
This scheme is currently only proposed by SSC. To implement it, the commission has sent a proposal to the central government. As soon as it is approved by the government, this change will become effective in the recruitment process.
SSC CGL 2025: Application process started
Meanwhile, SSC has released the recruitment notification for CGL 2025. This time a total of 14,582 posts will be recruited. The process of online application has also started and interested candidates can apply till 11 pm on 4 July 2025. The last date for depositing the application fee has been fixed as 5 July 2025.
Compared to last year, in 2024, a total of 17,727 posts were recruited, while this time the number is slightly less.
Which posts will be appointed?
Through the SSC CGL exam, candidates are appointed to Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ category posts in various ministries, departments and organizations of the Central Government. This time also there will be recruitment on many major posts, such as Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Central Excise Inspector, Sub-Inspector in CBI and NIA, Tax Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Auditor, Postal Assistant, Junior Statistical Officer, Upper Division Clerk and Executive Assistant etc.
