UPSC Prelims 2025 Result Declared : Today is a very special day for lakhs of youth who have appeared for the Civil Services Examination. UPSC has released the result of CSE Prelims 2025 on the official website. If you had appeared for the exam, now you can know whether you joined the race for Mains or not.

Exam date and pattern:

UPSC conducted the preliminary examination of Civil Services on 25 May 2025 across the country. It consists of two papers – General Studies (GS) and CSAT, both objective type and each paper is of 200 marks. The duration of each paper is 2 hours.

Negative marking system:

0.33 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. That is, if you answer a question wrongly, one-third of the total marks obtained on it is deducted.

How many vacancies are there this time?

This time UPSC is conducting the recruitment process for a total of 979 posts. Successful candidates will be appointed to IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and other civil service posts.

Information about the Mains exam:

Candidates who have cleared the prelims will now have to prepare for the main exam i.e. Mains. The main exam consists of 9 papers, out of which 2 are qualifying. After this there is an interview/personality test.
